Protein (choose one)

Eggs & dairy

Optional garnish & sides

Method

Protein (choose and cook)

1

Sausage patties

Heat a large nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add a teaspoon of oil if your patties are very lean. Place 4 sausage patties in the skillet without crowding. Cook 3–4 minutes per side, flipping once, until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) and exterior is nicely browned. Transfer to a plate and tent with foil to keep warm.

2

Place 4 links in a cold skillet, then turn heat to medium. Cook, turning occasionally, 10–12 minutes until browned on all sides and cooked through (internal temp 160°F/71°C). Reduce heat if they brown too quickly. Transfer to a plate and tent to keep warm.

3

Bacon

Lay 4 bacon strips in a cold skillet in a single layer. Turn heat to medium and cook 4–6 minutes, flipping occasionally, until crispness reaches your preference. Transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain and keep warm.

4

Ham

Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high. Add 2 ham slices and sear 1–2 minutes per side until warmed and lightly caramelized. Transfer to plate and keep warm.

Eggs

5

Wipe the skillet lightly if needed and lower heat to medium. Add 1 tablespoon butter and let it melt and foam. Crack 2 large eggs into a small bowl (or directly into the skillet) and gently slide into the pan. For sunny-side-up: cook undisturbed 2–3 minutes until whites are set but yolks still runny; season with 1/8–1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp pepper. For over-easy: cook whites until set (~2 minutes), flip gently and cook 15–30 seconds more. For over-medium/over-hard: cook longer until yolk reaches desired doneness. Remove eggs to the plate with the cooked protein and tent with foil to keep warm.

Toast

6

While the eggs cook (or in a toaster), toast 2 slices of bread until golden to your liking. Spread 1 tsp butter on the hot toast so it melts. Cut toast diagonally if desired and place on the plate alongside the protein and eggs.

Plating & serving

7

Arrange the chosen protein, 2 eggs, and 2 slices of buttered toast on a plate. Sprinkle optional chopped parsley over eggs for color. Serve with ketchup, hot sauce, or additional condiments on the side. Estimated portion serves 1 adult.
