Method
Equipment & Setup
Ensure the fountain dispenser and all lines are clean and sanitized according to manufacturer and local health regulations before use.
Confirm CO2 tank is connected, regulator set to the vendor-recommended pressure (usually 60–90 psi depending on system), and there is a chilled supply of filtered water to the carbonator.
Make sure the correct Pepsi brand syrup bag-in-boxes (Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Pepsi Zero Sugar, Pepsi Cherry, Pepsi Vanilla) are installed and connected to their labeled heads on the dispenser.
Mixing & Dispensing Standard Product
Calibrate syrup-to-water ratio
Check the manufacturer's recommended syrup-to-carbonated-water ratio for each syrup. Typical factory settings range from 1:5 to 1:7 (syrup:water) depending on syrup concentration. Adjust the dispenser’s mixing valves if needed to match the recommended ratio.
Prime lines (if new or after change)
If you installed a new bag-in-box or changed lines, prime the syrup lines: run the dispenser briefly on the new flavor until the syrup flows clear and consistent, then discard the first few cups to ensure fresh product and consistent flavor.
Confirm water temperature is cold (ideally 33–40°F / 0.5–4°C) to maintain carbonation and optimal taste. Confirm dispense nozzle flow is clean and unobstructed.
Serving Individual Cups
Prepare glass or cup
Fill the serving cup about two-thirds full with cubed ice if desired. For best carbonation retention, use cold cups.
Dispense product
Select the desired Pepsi product button on the fountain (Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Pepsi Zero Sugar, Pepsi Cherry, or Pepsi Vanilla). Press and hold the button while tilting the cup slightly under the nozzle; fill to about 3/4 to 7/8 full to leave room for head (foam). Release the button once the desired level is reached.
Top and finish
If the pour produced excessive foam, pause briefly to allow foam to settle then top to the desired level. Add garnish if appropriate: drop a maraschino cherry into a Pepsi Cherry, or add a lemon/lime wedge for a citrus accent. For extra vanilla, stir in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla syrup.
Serve immediately with a straw. For best quality, consume within 10–15 minutes to enjoy optimal carbonation and flavor.
Routine Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Every 4–8 hours (or per local regs) rinse nozzle and wipe spill tray. Replace syrup bags before empty to avoid air being drawn into the syrup lines.
If product tastes weak/sour: check syrup levels, verify syrup-to-water ratio, ensure CO2 pressure and water temperature are correct, and purge and prime lines if necessary.
If excessive foaming occurs: reduce carbonator pressure slightly, ensure water is sufficiently chilled, check for detergent residue in lines, and verify correct mixing ratio.
