In a large mash tun, combine 8 cups of Pale Malt and 1 cup of Caramel Malt with 5 liters of filtered water. Heat the mixture to about 152°F (67°C). Stir well to ensure all grains are saturated.

Prepare the Mash

Maintain the mash temperature for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the enzymes to convert the starches into fermentable sugars.

Mashing Process

After mashing, sparge the grains with hot water to extract all sugars, then transfer the wort to a large kettle. Bring the wort to a boil.

Boil the Wort

Once boiling, add 2 tbs of Hallertau Hops and boil for 60 minutes. Add 1 tbs of Saaz Hops in the last 10 minutes of the boil for aroma.

After the boil, cool the wort rapidly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches about 70°F (21°C).

Cool the Wort

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Sprinkle 1 packet of American Ale Yeast on top and seal with an airlock.

Pitch Yeast

Allow the beer to ferment at around 68°F (20°C) for 1-2 weeks, or until fermentation is complete.

Fermentation

Once fermentation is complete, prepare your bottles by sanitizing them thoroughly. You can also prepare a priming sugar solution if you want carbonation.

Prepare for Bottling

Transfer the beer to the bottles, leaving some headspace. Cap the bottles securely and store them at room temperature for 1-2 weeks to carbonate.

Bottle the Beer

After carbonation, chill the bottles in the fridge. Pour the beer into a glass and enjoy your refreshing Firestone 805 Blonde Ale!
