Method

Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker add the vodka (2 oz), passion fruit purée (1 oz), passion fruit liqueur (0.5 oz), fresh lime juice (0.5 oz), pineapple juice (0.75 oz), and simple syrup (0.5 oz).

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with the ice (about 6 cubes). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is frosty and the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.

4

Prepare glass

If you chilled the glass with ice water, dump the ice water out now. If the glass was in the freezer, remove it and ensure it's dry.

5

Strain and serve

Double-strain the shaken cocktail into the chilled martini or coupe glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer (to catch seeds and pulp), pouring until nearly full.

Garnish

6

Float half a passion fruit (cut-side up) on the surface of the cocktail or spoon a teaspoon of passion fruit seeds/pulp on top for aroma and visual appeal. Optionally, add a lime wheel or twist to the rim.
