Main Breakfast

Method

Main Breakfast

  1. 1

    Choose meat

Select one meat option: applewood smoked bacon (3 slices), farmer's sausage patties (2), or country-style ham steak (1).

  2. 2

    Cook meat

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. For bacon: add bacon slices in a single layer and cook 3–5 minutes per side until crispy or desired doneness; transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. For sausage patties: add patties and cook 4–5 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C); transfer to a plate. For ham steak: add ham to the skillet and cook 2–3 minutes per side until warmed through and lightly browned; transfer to a plate.

  3. 3

    Cook eggs

While meat rests, wipe out excess fat from the skillet leaving about 1 tsp fat (or add 1 tsp butter). Reduce heat to medium-low. Crack 2 large eggs into a small bowl, then gently slide into the skillet for fried eggs, or whisk with 1 tbsp water for scrambled. For fried eggs (sunny-side up): cook 2–3 minutes until whites set, cover with a lid for 30–60 seconds for slightly set yolks. For over-easy/medium: cook 2 minutes, flip gently and cook an additional 15–60 seconds depending on yolk doneness. For scrambled: pour whisked eggs into melted butter, stir gently until soft curds form, 2–3 minutes. Season eggs with 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper; plate with meat.

Toast

  1. 4

Toast 2 slices of bread in a toaster or on a pan over medium heat until golden (about 2–3 minutes per side in pan, 1–2 minutes in toaster). Spread 1 tbsp butter across warm toast and cut diagonally if desired. Serve alongside eggs and meat.

Hash Browns (choose) / Fresh Fruit (choose)

  1. 5

    Hash Browns

If choosing hash browns: heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 cup shredded hash browns in an even layer. Press down lightly with a spatula and cook undisturbed 4–6 minutes until golden brown on the bottom. Flip in sections, season with 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp pepper, and cook another 3–5 minutes until crisp and cooked through. Transfer to plate and serve hot.

  2. 6

    Fresh Fruit

If choosing fresh fruit: combine 1 cup mixed fresh fruit in a small bowl. Drizzle with 1 tsp lemon juice if desired and gently toss. Serve chilled or room temperature alongside the breakfast.
