Ingredients for Bruschetta al Pomodoro
Method
Directions for Preparing Bruschetta al Pomodoro
Prepare the Tomato Mixture
Dice the fresh tomatoes and place them in a mixing bowl. Add the chopped basil leaves, minced garlic, extra virgin olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until combined. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Toast the Bread
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette or ciabatta bread into 1/2-inch thick slices. Place the slices on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
Assemble the Bruschetta
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Top each slice with a generous spoonful of the tomato mixture. Serve immediately while the bread is still warm.
