1. Prepare the Artichokes

Trim the stem of each artichoke and remove any small leaves at the base. Rinse them under cold water.

2. Steam the Artichokes

In a large pot with a steaming basket, add water and bring to a boil. Place the artichokes in the basket, cover, and steam for about 30-40 minutes, or until the leaves can be pulled off easily.

3. Make Hedda's Family Sauce

In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.

4. Serve

Once the artichokes are done steaming, remove them from the pot. Serve warm with Hedda's family sauce on the side for dipping.
