Cake and Frosting

Method

Preparation

1

Bake the Cake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

3

Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk and orange zest. Mix well.

4

Combine and Bake

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

5

Soak the Cake

Once baked, let the cake cool for 10 minutes. In a bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and remaining whole milk. Poke holes in the cake and pour the milk mixture over it. Let it soak for at least an hour.

6

Prepare the Frosting

In a bowl, beat together the cream cheese, heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and orange zest until smooth and fluffy.

7

Frost the Cake

Spread the orange whipped cream cheese frosting over the soaked cake.

8

Garnish

Top the cake with candied orange peel for decoration.
