Method
Prepare & Cook Meats
Start sausage
Heat a large nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add 1 tsp neutral oil and swirl to coat. Add the 4 sausage links in a single layer. Cook for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally so they brown evenly and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). Reduce heat to low and keep warm in the skillet or transfer to a plate tented with foil.
Cook bacon
Using the same skillet (drain excess fat if there is more than 1 tbs, leaving a thin film), increase heat to medium-high. Add 3 bacon strips and cook 3–5 minutes per side, or until crisped to your preference. Transfer bacon to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain. If pan becomes very fatty, pour off excess leaving ~1 tsp for flavor.
Hash Brown & Muffin
Crisp the hash brown
In a separate nonstick skillet or the same skillet wiped clean, add 1 tbs unsalted butter and heat over medium-high. Add the frozen hash brown patty and cook 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden and crisp. Reduce heat to low to keep warm when done.
Beans & Eggs
Warm the beans
Place 1 cup canned baked beans in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir occasionally and warm for 4–6 minutes until simmering gently. Keep covered on very low heat until ready to serve.
Fry the eggs
In a medium nonstick skillet, melt 1 tsp butter over medium-low heat. Crack 2 eggs into the skillet and cook to preferred doneness: for sunny-side-up, cook 3–4 minutes until whites set but yolks runny; for over-easy, cook 2–3 minutes then flip gently and cook 30–45 seconds more. Season with 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper. If you prefer scrambled, whisk eggs with a pinch of salt and cook, stirring, until soft-curdled.
Assemble & Serve
Arrange components on a plate: place the toasted buttered English muffin half (or whole, split) at one side, add the crisp hash brown, position the sausage links and bacon strips together, and spoon the warmed baked beans into a small dish or alongside. Place the fried eggs on top of or next to the sausage and bacon.
