Burger Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Patty Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground prime rib, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until all the ingredients are well incorporated, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions (approximately 8 oz each) and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.

- 4
Cook the Patties
Place the patties on the grill or in the pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a golden brown crust forms. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty, cooking for another 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches at least 130°F (for medium rare).
- 5
Prepare the Buns
While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until they are lightly golden.
- 6
Assemble the Burger
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese. Add slices of tomato and pickles on top. Finally, drizzle ketchup over the top and close the burger with the top half of the bun.
- 7
Serve
Serve the prime rib burgers immediately with your choice of sides, such as fries or a salad.
