Method
Making the Donut
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well to combine.
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Heat Oil
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry Donuts
Using a donut cutter, cut out donut shapes from the dough. Carefully place them in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
Drain Donuts
Once fried, remove the donuts from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Assembling the Bro Nut
Cook Meat
Cook the bacon, ham, or sausage in a pan until crispy. Set aside.
Prepare Donuts
Slice the fried donuts in half horizontally.
Assemble Ingredients
Layer the bottom half of the donut with lettuce, followed by the meat, fried egg, a slice of tomato, and a slice of aged cheddar cheese.
Serve
Top with the other half of the donut and serve immediately.
