Steak

Mashed Potatoes

Method

Cooking the Steak

1

Preparing the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps them cook evenly.

2

Seasoning the Steak

Rub both sides of the ribeye steaks with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Make sure the steaks are evenly coated.

3

Cooking the Steak

Preheat a skillet or grill over high heat. Once hot, place the steaks on the skillet/grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

4

Resting the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet/grill and let them rest for about 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Making the Mashed Potatoes

5

Preparing the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into quarters. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water.

6

Boiling the Potatoes

Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and cook the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes, or until fork-tender.

7

Mashing the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Use a potato masher or a fork to mash until smooth and creamy.

8

Serving

Serve the mashed potatoes alongside the ribeye steak, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
