Preparation

Beer

1. Chill the Bottle or Can

Refrigerate the Green City IPA until it reaches 38–45°F (3–7°C). If it's not pre-chilled, place the can or bottle in an ice bath (ice + water) for 10–15 minutes to quickly cool it.

2. Prepare the Glass

If you prefer a chilled glass, place the clean glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill with ice and cold water for 2–3 minutes, then discard the ice/water and blot the glass with a clean napkin. A tulip or nonic pint glass is recommended to concentrate hop aroma while leaving room for head.

3. Pour the Beer

Hold the glass at a 45° angle. Start pouring the Green City IPA gently down the side of the glass about halfway through. When the glass is about half full, gradually tilt it upright and pour into the center to create a 1–1.5 inch (2.5–4 cm) frothy head. This preserves aromas and balances carbonation.

4. Finish & Serve

Inspect the head to ensure a creamy crown remains (about 1 inch). Serve immediately at 38–45°F (3–7°C) to best showcase the beer’s tropical, citrus, and resinous hop profile and bright bitterness.

Optional Garnish & Serve

5. If desired, present a lime wedge on the glass rim or serve on the side. Do not squeeze the lime into the beer unless you want a citrus accent — Green City is typically best enjoyed unaltered so its hop aromatics and malt balance can be appreciated.

6. Advise guests: this beer is 7% ABV. Sip slowly and enjoy with complementary light, salty or fried foods (e.g., fish tacos, fries, sharp cheese) to highlight hop bitterness and tropical notes.
