Cauliflower and Coating

Method

Instructions

1

Prepare the Cauliflower

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets and set aside.

2

Prepare the Breading

In a bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.

3

Bread the Cauliflower

Dip each cauliflower floret into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Arrange the coated florets on a baking sheet.

4

Bake the Cauliflower

Bake the cauliflower florets in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.

5

Make the Boise Style Tso's Sauce

In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red chili flakes. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Cook for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

6

Combine and Serve

Once the cauliflower is baked, toss it in the Boise Style Tso's Sauce until well coated. Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with black and white sesame seeds before serving.
