Method

Preparing the Shrimp

1

Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt and 2 tbs of lemon juice.

2

Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.

3

Cool the Shrimp

Remove the shrimp from the pot and place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes.

4

Drain and Chill

Drain the shrimp and pat them dry with paper towels. Place them on a serving platter and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

5

Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, mix together 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tbs of horseradish, 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 tbs of lemon juice.

6

Adjust Spiciness

If desired, add 1 tsp of hot sauce for extra heat and mix well.

7

Chill the Sauce

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the cocktail sauce for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Serving

8

Assemble the Platter

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter. Garnish with lemon wedges and fresh parsley leaves.

9

Serve with Sauce

Serve the shrimp alongside the chilled cocktail sauce for dipping.
