Base & Seasoning
Garnish & Rimming
Method
Prepare Glass & Rim
- 1
Rim preparation
Pour the 2 tsp coarse salt (or celery salt) and 0.5 tsp ground black pepper onto a small plate and mix. Rub the rim of a highball glass or pint glass with a lime wedge, then dip the rim into the salt/pepper mixture to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.
- 2
Add ice
Fill the rimmed glass about three-quarters full with ice cubes (use approximately the 1 cup of ice).
Make Virgin Caesar
- 3
Combine base
In a mixing glass or shaker (no shaking required, just for mixing), pour 2 cups Clamato juice, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon hot sauce, 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, 1 teaspoon celery salt, and 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper.
- 4
Mix & taste
Stir the mixture gently for 10–15 seconds to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning: add more hot sauce for heat (in 1/4 tsp increments), more lime for brightness (1/2 tsp increments), or a pinch more celery salt if needed.
- 5
Strain & serve
Pour the seasoned Clamato mixture over the prepared ice in the rimmed glass. Do not overfill; leave space for the garnish.
Garnish & Finish
- 6
Garnish
Place 1–2 stalks of celery into the drink and add a lime wedge to the rim. Optionally, squeeze the second lime wedge over the drink for extra acidity.
- 7
Final notes
Serve immediately with a stir stick. Offer additional hot sauce, Worcestershire, and celery salt at the table so guests can customize their Virgin Caesar.
