Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

  1. 1

Chill a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes, or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail.

  2. 2

If you want a sugared rim: rub a lime wedge around the glass rim and dip the rim into fine-grain sugar to coat lightly. Set the glass aside.

Mix Cocktail

  1. 3

    Combine ingredients

Fill a cocktail shaker with 1 cup of ice. Pour in 2 oz Grey Goose vodka, 0.75 oz Cointreau, 1.5 oz fresh pineapple juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup.

  2. 4

    Add bitters

Add 1 dash of Angostura bitters to the shaker to introduce a subtle aromatic complexity that balances the sweetness.

  3. 5

    Shake

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, or until the outside of the shaker becomes very cold and slightly frosted. This chills and dilutes the drink to the proper balance.

  4. 6

    Strain

Discard ice or water from the chilled glass if used. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini or coupe glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and any pulp.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 7

Garnish the drink with a pineapple wedge on the rim and a lime wheel floated on top or clipped to the rim. Add a dehydrated orange wheel or an edible flower for an extra 'golden hour' presentation, if desired.

  2. 8

    Serve immediately while cold.
