Draft Beer
1. Chill glass (optional)
If you prefer an extra-cold pour, place the clean pint glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes or fill it with ice and a small amount of water for 1–2 minutes, then dump the ice and water. Ensure the glass is only lightly frosted — avoid a layer of ice that will cause excessive foaming when pouring.
2. Inspect tap and glass
Make sure the Sapporo tap line and faucet are clean and the keg temperature is cold (ideally 36–40°F / 2–4°C). Use a clean, dry glass to avoid contamination and excessive head.
3. Position glass
Hold the pint glass at a 45° angle about 1–2 inches from the tap faucet. This angle reduces turbulence and controls head formation during the initial pour.
4. Open tap and begin pour
Fully open the tap in one smooth motion to avoid splashing. Direct the beer down the side of the tilted glass so it gently flows. Fill until the beer is about three-quarters full.
5. Straighten and top
When the glass is three-quarters full, slowly bring it upright and continue pouring to create a 1–1.5 inch head of foam. If too much foam forms, pause briefly to let it settle before finishing the pour.
