Preparation

Prepare citrus mix

1. Combine juices and syrup

In a small mixing glass or shaker, pour 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.25 oz fresh lemon juice and 0.25 oz simple syrup. Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters. Add a few ice cubes if you prefer the mix chilled and gently stir for 10 seconds to chill and dilute slightly.

2. Strain the chilled citrus mixture into a chilled pint glass (or beer glass) to leave behind ice shards. This creates a lightly flavored base that will marry with the beer.

Assemble the beer cocktail

3. Slowly tilt the glass at a 45-degree angle and very gently pour the bottle of cold Asahi Super Dry (12 oz bottle) down the side of the glass so it layers smoothly over the citrus mixture and preserves carbonation. Pouring slowly prevents excessive foam and keeps the drink bright.

4. Let the beer settle for a few seconds. Give the glass one gentle, brief stir (1–2 revolutions) with a bar spoon to incorporate the citrus into the beer evenly without flattening it.

Garnish and serve

5. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately while cold and effervescent.

6. Optional: provide a straw if desired, but enjoying directly from the glass preserves aroma and carbonation.
