Fry Bread Ingredients

Method

Fry Bread Directions

1

Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add water and mix until a soft dough forms.

2

Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.

3

Rest the Dough

Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

4

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

5

Shape the Fry Bread

Divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball). Flatten each ball into a disc about 1/4 inch thick.

6

Fry the Bread

Carefully place the discs in the hot oil, frying until golden brown on one side (about 2-3 minutes), then flip and fry the other side.

7

Drain and Serve

Remove the fry bread from the oil and drain on paper towels. Top with herbed goat's cheese and drizzle with honey before serving.
