Preparation

Egg

1. Heat pan

Place a small nonstick skillet over medium-low heat and add 1 tsp butter or oil. Let it melt and coat the pan, about 30 seconds.

2. Cook egg to order

Crack the egg into a small bowl to check for shells, then gently slide it into the skillet. For sunny-side-up: cook undisturbed 2–3 minutes until whites are set but yolk still runny. For over-easy: cook 2 minutes, gently flip with a spatula, cook 15–30 seconds more. For scrambled: whisk egg with a pinch of salt and pepper, pour into pan, stirring gently until just set, about 1–2 minutes. Season with 1/8 tsp salt and a light grind of pepper. Remove from pan and keep warm.

Protein

3. Pork or turkey sausage (pan)

If using a sausage link or patty: heat a separate skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through — about 8–10 minutes for links, 6–8 minutes for patties. Internal temp for pork should reach 160°F (71°C); for turkey 165°F (74°C). Drain any excess fat on a paper towel and keep warm.

4. Bacon (pan method)

If using bacon: lay the slices flat in a cold skillet without overlapping. Turn heat to medium and cook 3–4 minutes per side until crisp or to desired doneness. For a gentler method to reduce splatter, add 1 tbsp water to the pan after the bacon begins to release fat, cover, steam 1–2 minutes then uncover and crisp for another 1–2 minutes.

Biscuit

5. Bake or warm biscuit

If using ready-to-bake canned biscuit: preheat oven according to package (typically 375–400°F / 190–200°C). Place biscuit on a baking sheet and bake 10–12 minutes until golden. If using a pre-baked biscuit, warm in a 350°F (175°C) oven 5–7 minutes or microwave 20–30 seconds until warm. Brush with 1/2 tsp melted butter if desired.

Assemble & Serve

6. Place the warm biscuit on the plate. Arrange the cooked protein beside it and place the egg on the plate (or slide the egg onto the biscuit). Add 1 tsp ketchup or jam on the side if using. Serve immediately while hot.
