Build and serve
Fill a highball or old-fashioned glass with ice about three-quarters full.
Pour 1 oz Campari over the ice.
Add 1 oz sweet red vermouth (rosso) on top of the Campari.
Top with about 2 oz chilled club soda. Adjust soda to preference for dilution and strength.
Stir gently once or twice with a bar spoon to combine ingredients without flattening the soda.
Garnish with one orange slice or a thin orange twist expressed over the drink and dropped in. Serve immediately.
