Sparkling Wine

Juices (choose any combination totaling 2–9 oz per person)

Method

Chill and prepare

1

Chill prosecco

Place the bottle of prosecco in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, or in an ice bucket for 20–30 minutes until well chilled (about 40°F / 4–7°C).

2

If using fresh juice, chill the juice and/or refrigerate any opened store-bought juices. Fresh-squeezed orange or grapefruit juice is recommended for brighter flavor.

3

Prepare garnishes: slice orange into wheels or thin wedges, rinse cranberries and mint, and set out flutes or glasses.

Measure juices

4

Decide how many people you are serving (2–4). The guideline per person is 2–9 oz of juice combined with the prosecco. For a standard, balanced mimosa ratio, use 3–4 oz juice per person for lighter alcohol, or 6–9 oz for a stronger, fruitier drink.

5

Examples for 4 people: For a lighter mimosa use 12–16 oz total juice (3–4 oz each). For fuller fruit flavor, use 24–36 oz total juice (6–9 oz each). Adjust according to preference and number of guests.

6

Measure your chosen juices. For this recipe JSON we default to a single-juice example: measure 9 oz fresh orange juice (enough for two light servings or one larger serving). If making a batch for multiple people, multiply accordingly.

Assemble (by glass)

7

Fill a chilled champagne flute about one-third with your chosen juice (for a classic 3:1 prosecco-to-juice ratio use ~3 oz juice in a 6–8 oz flute).

8

Slowly pour chilled prosecco down the side of the glass to fill—pouring slowly preserves bubbles and prevents foam. Fill to the top, leaving a small headspace.

9

Gently stir once with a bar spoon if using thicker juices to integrate, but avoid vigorous stirring to keep carbonation.

10

Garnish with an orange wheel on the rim, a few cranberries dropped in, or a mint sprig, as desired.

Assemble (by pitcher for multiple servings)

11

If serving 3–4 people and you prefer a pitcher, combine the measured juices in a pitcher. Do not add ice directly if you want to preserve bubbles; instead chill the pitcher before serving.

12

When ready to serve, slowly add the chilled prosecco to the pitcher, stirring gently once. Pour into chilled flutes immediately.

13

Alternatively, keep the prosecco separate and let guests build their own mimosas to control juice ratio and maintain fizz.

Serving notes & safety

14

Serve immediately after assembling to preserve effervescence. Leftover mixed mimosas will go flat—store leftover prosecco and juices separately in the fridge for up to 48 hours (prosecco may lose some carbonation).

15

For non-alcoholic version, substitute sparkling water or non-alcoholic sparkling wine in place of prosecco in a 1:1 ratio.
