Shrimp Preparation

1

Prepare the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the salt, bay leaves, and the whole lemon cut in half. Stir well to combine.

2

Cook the Shrimp

Add the large shrimp to the boiling water. Reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

3

Cool the Shrimp

Remove the shrimp from the pot and transfer them to an ice bath (a bowl filled with ice and water) to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes.

4

Drain the Shrimp

Once cooled, drain the shrimp and pat them dry with paper towels.

Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 teaspoon of hot sauce.

Mix all the ingredients until well combined. Adjust horseradish and hot sauce to taste.
