Soda Options

Optional Garnishes & Ice

Preparation

Soda Options

1. Coca-Cola (regular)

If using a chilled glass, proceed to step. If not chilled, rinse glass with cold water and add 6 ice cubes. Hold the bottle/can about 2–3 inches (5–8 cm) above the glass with the glass tilted ~10–20°. Pour the Coca-Cola slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and minimize foaming. Leave ~1 cm headspace. Serve immediately.

2. Diet Coke

Place the chilled glass on a flat surface. Add ice cubes if desired. Hold the Diet Coke can/bottle close to the glass (2–3 inches / 5–8 cm) and pour gently down the side to retain fizz. Leave ~1 cm headspace. Note: Diet Coke contains negligible calories. Serve immediately.

3. Dr Pepper

If using ice, add 6 cubes to the chilled glass. Hold the Dr Pepper can/bottle 5–8 cm above the glass, tilt the glass slightly and pour slowly down the side to control foam. Allow a small head of bubbles (~1 cm). Dr Pepper has a fuller flavor — serve straight or with a lemon wedge if requested.

4. Ginger Ale

Add ice to the chilled glass if preferred. Hold the bottle/can 5–8 cm above the glass and pour ginger ale slowly down the side to preserve carbonation. For a brighter presentation, finish with a gentle swirl (do not stir vigorously). Optionally garnish with a lemon wedge.

5. Sprite

Place ice (if using) into the chilled glass. Pour Sprite slowly down the side from 5–8 cm above the glass to maintain fizz and reduce foaming. Leave ~1 cm headspace. Serve with a lime wedge on the rim or squeezed into the drink if requested.

Optional Garnishes & Ice

6. Chill glass: For best presentation, store highball glasses in the refrigerator or freezer for at least 15–30 minutes before service. If chilled glass is not available, rinse the glass with cold water and add ice to cool it.

7. Ice: Add 6 ice cubes (or enough to fill roughly 3/4 of the glass). If the customer prefers no ice, serve soda chilled in the bottle/can with the glass empty or omitted.

8. Lemon wedge garnish: Cut a 1/8–1/4-inch slit into the wedge and place it on the rim. For a subtle citrus aroma, rub the wedge around the rim before placing. Lemon is recommended with Coca-Cola or Ginger Ale.

9. Lime wedge garnish: Cut a 1/8–1/4-inch slit into the wedge and place on the rim or squeeze into the drink. Lime is recommended with Sprite and can also be offered with Diet Coke.
