Method
Cocktail
- 1
Prepare glass
Choose a large wine glass. Fill the glass generously with large ice cubes so the drink stays cold and dilutes slowly.
- 2
Add bitter liqueur
Pour 2 tablespoons (about 1 oz) of Aperol-style bitter liqueur over the ice. Swirl gently once to begin chilling the liqueur without vigorous mixing.
- 3
Add sparkling wine
Slowly pour 3 ounces of chilled Prosecco (or another dry sparkling wine) into the glass at an angle. Pouring slowly preserves the bubbles and prevents overflow.
- 4
Top with soda
Add 1 ounce of chilled club soda (or sparkling water) on top. This lightens the drink and adds a refreshing effervescence.
- 5
Garnish and service
Garnish with one fresh orange slice placed on the rim or floated in the drink. Serve immediately with a short stirring action (one gentle stir) to integrate layers while keeping carbonation.
