Drink
- 1
Chill glass and ingredients
Optional but recommended: chill a large wine glass or rocks glass in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes and ensure Prosecco and soda water are well chilled.
- 2
Add ice
Fill the chilled glass generously with fresh ice until nearly full. The large volume of ice keeps the drink cold and prevents it from diluting too quickly.
- 3
Pour Aperol
Measure and pour 3 parts Aperol over the ice. (If you prefer metric: 90 ml Aperol for a 300 ml total parts batch where 1 part = 30 ml.)
- 4
Add Prosecco
Slowly add 2 parts chilled Prosecco down the side of the glass to help preserve the bubbles and create a layered effect. Pour gently so the Prosecco mixes without excessive foam.
- 5
Top with soda
Add 1 part chilled soda water on top to taste. Stir gently once or twice with a bar spoon to integrate the layers—avoid vigorous stirring to keep the carbonation.
- 6
Garnish and serve
Garnish with one fresh orange slice placed on the rim or dropped into the drink. Serve immediately while fizzy and cold.
- 7
Serving note: The classic ratio is 3:2:1 (Aperol:Prosecco:soda). Adjust proportions slightly to taste — increase Aperol for more bitterness, more Prosecco for dryness, or more soda for a lighter spritz.
