Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place 2 slices of cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Prepare the Special Sauce

  1. 6

    Mix the Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and pickle relish. Mix well until smooth.

Prepare the Vegetables

  1. 7

    Slice the Tomato

Wash the tomato and slice it into thin rounds.

  2. 8

    Wash the Lettuce

Rinse the lettuce leaves and pat them dry.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 9

    Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 10

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread a layer of the special sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on each bun, followed by a slice of tomato.

  3. 11

    Add the Patties

Place two cheese-topped patties on each assembled bun.

  4. 12

    Finish the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
