Method

Main Juice

1

Prepare produce

Wash all fruit and vegetables thoroughly. Peel oranges and cut into segments. Peel carrots if not organic and cut into pieces that fit your juicer or blender. Core the apple and cut into quarters; leave the skin on for nutrients. Peel the lemon and grate or peel and then juice. Peel and grate the ginger.

2

Juice or Blend

If using a juicer: Feed the orange segments, carrot pieces, apple quarters, small pieces of ginger, and lemon segments through the juicer. Collect juice in a pitcher. If using a blender: Place orange segments, carrot pieces, apple quarters, grated ginger, lemon juice, and 1/2 cup cold water (or coconut water) into the blender. Blend on high until smooth, about 45–60 seconds.

3

Strain (optional)

If you prefer a smoother, pulp-free juice, place a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag over a bowl or pitcher and pour the blended mixture through it. Use a spoon to press the pulp to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard or reserve pulp for cooking or baking.

4

Adjust sweetness and chill

Taste the juice. If you'd like it sweeter, stir in up to 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup until dissolved. Add ice cubes to the pitcher or chill in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes.

5

Serve

Pour the juice into two tall glasses over ice. Garnish each glass with a few mint leaves and a slice of orange or lemon. Serve immediately for the best flavor and nutritional value.

Optional Garnish & Serving

6

For a sparkling variation, top each glass with 2–3 tablespoons of chilled sparkling water. For a colder drink, blend the ice with the juice to make a slushy texture.
