Begin by chilling a cocktail glass. You can do this by placing it in the freezer for a few minutes or filling it with ice water for a few minutes, then discarding the ice water before pouring the drink.

In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of Fernet-Branca, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 0.5 oz of simple syrup.
