Method
Prep
Wash produce
Rinse grapes under cold running water in a colander. Rinse the apple, then dry with a clean towel.
Prepare lemon wash
In a small bowl, mix 1 teaspoon lemon juice with 1 tablespoon water. This will be used to lightly coat the apple slices to prevent browning.
Assemble fruit
Remove grapes from stems and pat dry. Place red and green grapes in a separate small pile or small ramekin so kids can pick them easily.
Assemble savory items
Fold or roll each turkey slice into a loose roll (for easy picking) and arrange 8 rolls on the plate. If preferred, cut each slice in half for smaller portions.
Place the cheddar cheese next to the turkey. If using a block, cut into 8 small cubes or 8 thin slices to match the number of turkey rolls/crackers.
Arrange crackers in a small stack or fan near the cheese. If using toothpicks for grapes or cheese, insert one toothpick into a grape or cheese cube and lay next to the crackers for a fun presentation (omit toothpicks for very young children).
Plate and serve
On a kid-sized plate or divided plate, arrange the components in separate sections: turkey rolls, cheese, grapes, apple slices, crackers, and a small container of dip (2 tbsp) if using. Keep items separated so textures and flavors are distinct for picky eaters.
Include a napkin or paper liner and a child-safe fork or spoon if you provided dip. Serve immediately. If not serving right away, keep apple slices refrigerated and covered for up to 1 hour to minimize browning; consume within 2–3 hours for best quality.
