Chicken Marinade
Breading
Frying
Method
Marinating
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Cut the boneless chicken breasts into strips, about 1 inch wide.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken strips and ensure they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight.
Breading
- 3
Prepare the Breading Station
In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- 4
Bread the Chicken
Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator. Dredge each strip first in the flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Ensure each piece is evenly coated.
Frying
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread into it; if it sizzles, the oil is ready.
- 6
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the breaded chicken strips in the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- 7
Drain and Serve
Remove the chicken tenders from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
