Method
For the Seared Salmon
- 1
Prepare the Salmon
Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- 2
Heat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- 3
Sear the Salmon
Place the seasoned salmon fillets in the hot skillet, skin-side down if applicable. Cook for about 4-5 minutes or until the skin is crispy. Flip the fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes or until cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
For the Creamy Parmesan Orzo
- 4
Cook the Orzo
In a medium saucepan, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the orzo and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- 5
Make the Creamy Sauce
In the same saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- 6
Combine the Ingredients
Stir in the cooked orzo and grated Parmesan cheese into the cream mixture. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until creamy and heated through.
For the Steamed Green Beans
- 7
Prepare the Green Beans
Trim the ends of the fresh green beans.
- 8
Steam the Green Beans
Place the green beans in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp.
- 9
Season the Green Beans
Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Season with salt and add butter if desired.
