Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    For Beef Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    For Veggie Patty

In a separate bowl, mash the black beans with a fork. Add the cooked quinoa, chopped onion, chopped bell pepper, garlic powder, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Cooking the Beef Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Shape the ground beef mixture into two equal patties, about 1/2 pound each. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness.

  2. 4

    Cooking the Veggie Patty

Shape the veggie mixture into two equal patties. Cook on a skillet over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and heated through.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Building the Burger

On the bottom half of each sesame seed bun, place the cooked patty (beef or veggie). Top with a slice of cheddar cheese (if using), lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Place the top half of the bun on top.

Serve

  1. 6

    Serving the Burger

Serve the assembled Quarter Pounder Burgers with your choice of fries or a side salad.
