Burger Patty

Philly Steak Topping

Garlic Mayo

American Cheese Sauce

Buns and Garnish

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Patty Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Shape the beef mixture into two equal-sized patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cook the Toppings

  1. 3

    Caramelize the Onions

In a skillet over medium heat, add a little oil and the sliced onions. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally until they are soft and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Mushrooms and Steak

In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and Philly steak. Sauté until the mushrooms are tender and the steak is warmed through, about 5-7 minutes.

Prepare the Garlic Mayo

  1. 5

    Mix the Garlic Mayo

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Stir until well mixed. Set aside.

Make the Cheese Sauce

  1. 6

    Create a Roux

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden.

  2. 7

    Add Milk and Cheese

Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens. Add the shredded American cheese and stir until melted and smooth.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 8

    Grill the Burger Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the formed patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.

  2. 9

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  3. 10

    Build the Burger

Spread garlic mayo on the bottom bun, place the burger patty, top with the Philly steak, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, and drizzle with cheese sauce. Garnish with chopped parsley and top with the other half of the bun.
