Method

For the Pickles

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Start by draining the dill pickle slices and patting them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In one bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In a third bowl, combine cornmeal, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.

  3. 3

    Bread the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice first in flour, shaking off the excess, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the cornmeal mixture to coat evenly.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully add the breaded pickles to the hot oil in batches, frying until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

For the Ranch Dressing

  1. 6

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk. Whisk together until smooth.

  2. 7

    Add Spices

Add dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Stir until well combined.

  3. 8

    Chill

Cover the ranch dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
