Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground Angus beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Shape Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties that are about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indent in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Ensure it’s hot before adding the patties.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 5

    Slice Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion into rings. Rinse and dry the lettuce leaves. Prepare the pickles if they aren’t pre-sliced.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast Buns (optional)

If desired, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a cooked patty, followed by lettuce, a slice of tomato, pickles, and onion. Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.
