Garlic Yogurt Dip

Method

Garlic Yogurt Dip

1

Prepare garlic

Peel and finely mince 4 garlic cloves. For a milder garlic presence, smash the minced garlic with the side of a chef's knife and sprinkle with a pinch of salt, then mash into a paste; this mellows bite and distributes flavor evenly.

2

Whisk base

In a medium bowl combine 2 cups Greek yogurt and 1/2 cup mayonnaise. Whisk until smooth and uniform in texture.

3

Add flavorings

Stir in the garlic paste, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, and 1/2 teaspoon honey until fully incorporated.

4

Season and herbs

Fold in 2 tablespoons chopped parsley and 1 tablespoon sliced chives. Season with 1 teaspoon Kosher salt and 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper. Taste and adjust: add up to 1 additional teaspoon lemon juice or a pinch more salt if desired.

5

Chill to meld flavors

Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, ideally 1–2 hours, to let the garlic and herbs infuse the dip. If short on time, let sit 10 minutes at room temperature.

6

Finish and serve

Before serving, give the dip a final stir. Transfer to a shallow serving bowl. Drizzle 1 teaspoon olive oil over the surface, sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional) and 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest if using for brightness.

Dippers & Finish

7

Prepare dippers while dip chills: cut pita into wedges and toast in a 375°F (190°C) oven for 6–8 minutes until golden and crisp, or toast slices of crusty bread until warm and slightly crunchy.

8

Trim and cut raw vegetables into sticks (carrot, cucumber, celery) and arrange on a platter with the toasted breads or pita wedges.

9

Place the prepared Garlic Yogurt Dip in the center of the platter. Garnish with extra chopped parsley or chives if desired and serve immediately.
