Spritz Cocktail

Method

Spritz Cocktail

1

Prepare glass

Select a large wine glass (or rocks glass if preferred). Fill the glass about three-quarters full with fresh ice cubes to properly chill the drink and keep dilution moderate.

2

Add bitter liqueur

Pour 2 oz Aperol (for a lighter, sweeter spritz) or 2 oz Campari (for a more bitter, robust spritz) over the ice.

3

Add Prosecco

Slowly pour 3 oz chilled Prosecco into the glass. Pouring slowly preserves effervescence and helps mix without stirring aggressively.

4

Top with soda

Gently add 1 oz chilled soda water to the top of the drink to introduce brightness and lift the bubbles.

5

Lightly stir

Using a bar spoon or long spoon, give the cocktail one or two gentle turns to integrate the ingredients without knocking out too much carbonation.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with one fresh orange slice on the rim or floated in the glass. Optionally express an orange twist (pinch the peel over the drink to release oils) then drop it in. Serve immediately while cold and effervescent.
