1. Chill and prepare glass
If desired, chill the pint glass in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes beforehand. Rinse the glass briefly with cold water and shake out excess — this helps maintain head formation and keeps the pint colder.
2. Pour the Guinness (traditional two-part pour)
Hold the glass at a 45-degree angle under the tap or can/sur draft spout. Begin pouring and aim for the middle of the glass. Fill to about three-quarters full (just below the harp logo on branded glasses). Let the beer settle until the surge of nitrogen and carbon dioxide forms a distinct creamy head and the liquid appears to settle (typically 60–90 seconds).
