Method
Smoothie Base
- 1
Prepare fruit
Peel the banana and break it into large chunks. If using fresh mango, peel and cut into cubes. Measure out frozen mixed berries. This combination balances sweetness and acidity.
- 2
Add to blender
Place the banana chunks, frozen mixed berries, and mango into the blender pitcher.
- 3
Add dairy/liq ingredients
Pour in 1/2 cup yogurt, 3/4 cup milk of choice, and 1/4 cup orange juice. Add 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice to brighten the flavors and 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup to sweeten (adjust to taste).
- 4
Add ice (optional)
If you want a thicker, colder smoothie, add 4 ice cubes. Omit or reduce ice if using frozen fruit and preferring a less-diluted texture.
- 5
Blend
Secure the blender lid and start blending on low for 10–15 seconds to combine, then increase to high and blend for 30–60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed, then pulse again to finish. The smoothie should be pourable but thick.
- 6
Adjust consistency and sweetness
Taste the smoothie. If too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons of milk or orange juice and blend briefly. If not sweet enough, add a little more honey or maple syrup (1/2 tsp increments) and blend.
- 7
Serve
Pour the fruit smooth into two tall glasses (or one large glass).
Optional Garnish / Add-ins
- 8
Sprinkle 1 teaspoon chia seeds over the top or stir them into the smoothie for texture and nutrition. Add 2 fresh mint leaves as a fragrant garnish. If desired, top with 2 tablespoons granola for crunch just before serving.
