Smoothie Base

Method

Smoothie Base

  1. 1

    Prepare fruit

Peel the ripe banana and break it into large chunks so it blends easily. If using fresh berries, rinse and hull strawberries; pat dry. If using frozen berries, no thawing needed.

  2. 2

    Combine ingredients

Place banana chunks, mixed berries, milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and vanilla extract into a blender. Add the ice cubes.

  3. 3

    Blend until smooth

Secure the blender lid and blend on high for 30–60 seconds, or until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides once if needed to ensure even blending.

  4. 4

    Check consistency & sweetness

Taste the smoothie and adjust: add up to 1 more teaspoon of maple syrup if you want it sweeter, or add 2–3 tablespoons more milk if it’s too thick. Blend briefly after adjustments.

  5. 5

    Serve

Pour the smoothie into a chilled glass or two smaller glasses. If using, sprinkle chia seeds on top, arrange banana slices and mint leaves, and finish with a light drizzle of extra maple syrup.

Optional Garnish & Add-ins

  1. 6

For a thicker, pudding-like texture, stir chia seeds into the blended smoothie and let sit for 5–10 minutes before serving so seeds swell slightly. Use mint leaves and extra banana slices to garnish as desired.
