Cocktail

Method

Prep & Rim

1

Prepare the glass

Run the lemon wedge around the rim of a highball or Collins glass to moisten it evenly.

2

Dip the moistened rim into a shallow dish containing the coarse celery salt and a pinch of freshly cracked black pepper to coat the rim lightly. Set the glass aside.

Build the Cocktail

3

Fill a cocktail shaker or mixing glass halfway with ice (about 1 cup).

4

Add the vodka (2 oz) and tomato brine (2 oz) to the shaker.

5

Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice (0.5 oz), Worcestershire sauce (0.25 tsp), hot sauce (2 dashes), olive brine (0.5 tsp), celery salt (0.25 tsp) and ground black pepper (about 4 grinds) to the shaker.

6

Secure the shaker top (or if using a mixing glass, place a stirring spoon) and shake vigorously for 8–12 seconds to chill and lightly aerate, or stir gently for 10–15 seconds if you prefer a smoother, less foamy texture.

7

If you used a shaker, strain the cocktail into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice. If you stirred, pour directly over fresh ice in the prepared glass.

Garnish & Finish

8

Garnish with the celery stalk and lemon wedge. Optionally skewer and add the green olive to the rim or place it in the drink.

9

Give the drink a final gentle grind of black pepper over the top and a light pinch of celery salt if desired. Serve immediately.
