Cocktail
Sautéed Garlic Shrimp Skewer (served with cocktail)
Method
Cocktail
Prepare glass
Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a highball or pint glass. Dip the rim into coarse salt or celery salt to coat. Set aside.
Mix drink
Fill the prepared glass with ice (about 1 cup). Add 1 oz Smirnoff vodka, 3 oz Mott's Clamato juice, 0.25 oz pickle juice and 0.25 oz fresh lime juice over the ice.
Garnish and adjust
Taste and adjust spiciness or saltiness: add more hot sauce, pickle juice or celery salt to suit your preference. Garnish with a pickle spear and lime wedge on the rim.
Sautéed Garlic Shrimp Skewer (served with cocktail)
If using wooden skewers, soak in warm water for 10 minutes to prevent burning. Thread 3 large shrimp onto the skewer.
Add the shrimp to the pan in a single layer. Season with 1/4 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp black pepper and 1/4 tsp smoked paprika. Cook 1.5–2 minutes on the first side until edges turn opaque.
Remove from heat, sprinkle with 1 tsp chopped fresh parsley. Allow to rest 30 seconds, then serve the skewer alongside the cocktail for guests to enjoy. Optional: place skewer across the top of the glass or on a small side plate.
