Garnish & glass
Method
Prep glass
- 1
Salt rim (optional)
Run a lime wedge around the rim of a chilled rocks or coupe glass. Pour a thin layer of coarse salt or superfine sugar onto a small plate and press the wet rim into it to coat. Set the glass aside.

If using fresh fruit (peach, strawberry or watermelon), prepare puree: roughly chop fruit and muddle or blend with a splash (about 0.5 oz) of lime juice, then strain through a fine mesh if you prefer a smooth texture.
- 3
Add 1.5 oz tequila (Sauza Silver by default; substitute Hornitos Reposado if requested), 0.75 oz orange liqueur, 1.0 oz fresh lime juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup (or agave) and the chosen flavoring puree/juice into a cocktail shaker. For classic lime, omit additional puree/juice.
- 4
Fill the shaker with ice (about 4 oz or enough to 3/4 fill) and cap it. Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold and slightly frosted.

- 6
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge and, if appropriate, a small slice of the chosen fruit. Serve immediately.
