Method

Directions

1

Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2

Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk continuously for about 1 minute to create a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring until the mixture is smooth and begins to thicken.

3

Add Cheese and Seasoning

Reduce the heat to low and add the shredded cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.

4

Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring to coat the pasta evenly.

5

Optional Topping

If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for added texture. You can also bake the mac and cheese in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes for a crispy top.
