Coffee Preparation
Brew the Coffee
In a Vietnamese drip filter (phin), add 2 tablespoons of Vietnamese coffee grounds. Place the filter over a cup and pour 100 ml of hot water over the grounds. Let it drip for about 4-5 minutes until all the water has passed through.
Ice Cream Preparation
Make the Condensed Milk Ice Cream
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of condensed milk, 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 cup of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Whip the mixture until it is well blended and slightly thickened. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
Serving
Assemble the Affogato
Scoop a generous amount of the condensed milk ice cream into a serving bowl or glass. Once the coffee is brewed, pour it directly over the ice cream. Serve immediately and enjoy the hot coffee melting into the cold ice cream.
