Pork Marinade
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Marinating the Pork
In a large bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, Chinese five spice, sugar, red food coloring, rice wine, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add the pork to the marinade, ensuring it's fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- 2
Cooking the Pork
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the marinated pork on a baking rack over a baking tray. Bake for 25-30 minutes, basting with the marinade every 10 minutes. For a caramelized finish, turn on the broiler for the last 5 minutes.
- 3
Preparing the Chinese Broccoli
While the pork is cooking, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the Chinese broccoli and blanch for 2-3 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.
- 4
Serving
Slice the BBQ pork thinly and serve it over a bed of blanched Chinese broccoli. Drizzle with any remaining marinade for extra flavor.
