Cocktail Preparation

Prepare the Glass
Begin by chilling a rocks glass in the freezer or filling it with ice water to cool it down.

Mix Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine the rye whiskey, simple syrup, Angostura bitters, and barrel-aged bitters. Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes.

Stir
Stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds, until well chilled and combined.

Strain
Remove the ice from the chilled rocks glass. Using a strainer, pour the stirred mixture into the glass over fresh ice cubes.

Garnish
Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink and drop it in as a garnish. Add the maraschino cherry on top for an additional touch.
