Marinated Flank Steak

Method

Preparation and Grilling

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a medium bowl, combine lime juice, olive oil, minced garlic (to taste), cumin, chili powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C).

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

  5. 5

    Rest and Slice

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Cut against the grain into thin strips.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle chopped cilantro over the sliced steak before serving. Serve with tortillas, salsa, and your favorite toppings.
